MEDA302 Subject Overview and Information

Subject Description
This subject provides students with a critical environment to both broaden and deepen their existing skills and supports their development of a sustainable media arts practice. The subject employs contributive learning strategies to encourage the development of a community of practice. Students develop and present Media Arts projects supported by documentation and critical reflection. Completed projects will be exhibited in the end of year student exhibition. Related to this, the subject will also address issues of exhibition, installation and the professional handling of Media Arts projects.

Subject Objectives/Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

  1. Produce an exhibition-ready Media Arts work.
  2. Write critically about the contextual, conceptual and aesthetic underpinnings of their creative Media Arts project work.
  3. Contribute a professional creative approach to the field of Media Arts and other related areas.
